DASA & SAVE
Jefferson-Lewis BOCES is a NYSED-approved provider of DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) and SAVE (Safe Schools Against Violence in Education) workshops. These required trainings support a safe, inclusive, and responsive school environment for all students and staff.
DASA and SAVE trainings are available full online in an asynchronous modality to complete on your own schedule. Workshop information is below.


DASA Six Hour Training
This training fulfills the harassment, bullying, and discrimination prevention and intervention requirement for certification under the Dignity for All Students Act (The Dignity Act). It addresses social patterns such as marginalization, microaggressions, and acts of bias—whether based on race, color, weight, national origin, ethnicity, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender, or sex. The training emphasizes a proactive approach to building a positive school culture and climate, with the goal of creating affirming educational environments for all students. Successful completion satisfies the certification requirement outlined in §14(5) of Chapter 102 of the Laws of 2012.
Current Course Offerings
Workshops begin on the 1st of each month and are available throughout the whole month. This is a self paced workshop. The workshop must be completed by the end of the month in which you register.

SAVE Two Hour Training
SAVE training is designed to fulfill the school violence prevention and intervention training required for certification/licensure under the Safe Schools Against Violence in Education (SAVE) legislation. This training addresses the components of SAVE legislation, warning signs within a developmental and social context that relate to violence and other troubling behaviors in children, effective classroom management techniques and other academic supports that promote a nonviolent school climate and enhance learning, intervention techniques designed to address a school violence situation and the importance of district referral process for students exhibiting violent behavior.
