Labor Relations & Legal Services
The Office of Labor Relations & Legal Services provides school districts with experienced, strategic support in managing labor negotiations, employee matters, and a wide range of legal challenges.
With deep expertise in education law and public sector labor relations, we team helps boards of education, superintendents, and administrators make informed decisions that protect their schools and ensure compliance with New York State law.


Labor Relation Services
Representing districts in all aspects of labor relations, including at-the-table bargaining, development of management negotiation proposals and strategies, and providing information on salaries and benefits.
Representing districts in grievances, arbitrations, employee discipline/discharge hearings, and actions involving the NYS Public Employment Relations Board.
Conducting investigations and counsel boards of education, superintendents, and school administrators in matters regarding labor relations, personnel issues, and employee discipline issues.
Reviewing contract language and advice on issues regarding contract administration.
Legal Services
School districts may access the legal expertise of a BOCES School Attorneys by entering into an inter-municipal agreement.
Districts that participate in this inter-municipal agreement receive consultation, advise, and representation in a broad range of legal issues.
