BOCES Transportation Services program provides required trainings for all facets of school district transportation needs. The ease of a “one stop shop” is exemplified in this service, with basic and advanced programs for your drivers and other transportation staff readily available.

We also provide other non-mandated programs designed to enhance and protect both staff and students.

Transportation Programs and Services

Behind-the-Wheel Safety Training for Commercial Motor Vehicle Operators

This program is designed for experienced commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers to reinforce safe driving practices, update them on the latest safety regulations, and address any areas of concern that may have arisen since their initial training. This refresher course helps ensure that seasoned drivers continue to operate their vehicles safely and effectively.

Entry-Level Driver Training for Class B Commercial Motor Vehicles

This program is designed for individuals who are new to operating commercial motor vehicles (CMVs). This training is part of the Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements set by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to ensure that new drivers have the necessary skills and knowledge to safely operate a CMV.

Entry-Level Theory Training for Class B Commercial Motor Vehicles

A comprehensive, self-paced program designed to equip new commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers with the foundational knowledge required to safely and effectively operate a CMV. This course meets the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements for ELDT and covers a wide range of topics essential for new drivers pursuing a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

NYS DMV 19-A Testing for School Districts

Designed to help school districts comply with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NYS DMV) Article 19-A requirements. These regulations ensure that school bus drivers meet the highest safety and competency standards, providing safe transportation for students. Our comprehensive testing services assist school districts in managing the complex requirements of Article 19-A, ensuring that all drivers are qualified and compliant with state regulations.

New York State Education Department (NYSED) Mandated Courses for School Bus Driver, Monitors and Attendants

NYSED training programs required by the state to ensure that all individuals involved in student transportation are adequately prepared to perform their duties safely and effectively. These courses are designed to equip school bus drivers, monitors, and attendants with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage their responsibilities, prioritize student safety, and comply with state regulations.

NYSED SharePoint Mandate Assistance Services

NYSED SharePoint Mandate Assistance Services are designed to help school districts effectively navigate and comply with the NYSED SharePoint requirements. These services ensure that districts can seamlessly manage and submit all necessary documents, reports, and compliance materials through the NYSED SharePoint system, thereby meeting state mandates and deadlines efficiently.

Drug/Alcohol

This program assists our clients in complying with the Federal statutes pertaining to drug and alcohol testing of bus drivers and other personnel who may be holding a commercial driver’s license (CDL). We comply with all independent third-party requirements of the Federal Motor Carrier regulations, which include on-site sample collection, alcohol testing, laboratory analysis and the review of a medical review officer.

Record keeping for New York State and Federal programs are maintained and secured for each of our clients and their affected personnel.

Third Party Administrator (TPA) Services for FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Testing for school districts and municipalities provide comprehensive management and support to ensure compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.

These services include drug and alcohol testing, collection services, and compliance assistance, specifically tailored for organizations involved in student transportation and municipal operations.

Comprehensive Drug and Alcohol Testing Managementation (DOT) Drug and Alcohol Management

Random Testing Program Administration: We manage your organization’s random drug and alcohol testing program, including the selection of employees for testing, scheduling tests, and ensuring that all required tests are conducted within FMCSA guidelines.

Pre-Employment Testing: We handle pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for new hires to ensure compliance before they begin safety-sensitive duties.

Post-Accident Testing: We coordinate timely post-accident testing as required by FMCSA regulations to determine whether drug or alcohol use contributed to the incident.

Reasonable Suspicion Testing: We assist supervisors in identifying when reasonable suspicion testing is warranted and manage the testing process to ensure it is conducted properly.

Return-to-Duty and Follow-Up Testing: For employees returning to safety-sensitive positions after a violation, we manage the required return-to-duty and follow-up testing processes.
