Job Description
LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, Watertown, New York- Administration Building
STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $38,000 - $41,000. Commensurate with experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement. Health insurance which includes vision & prescription coverage, NYS Retirement membership, tax deferred annuities, employee assistance program, and generous sick and personal day policies
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Schedules/teaches and/or supervises the New York State Education Department mandated trainings for school bus drivers, monitors and attendants throughout New York State. Assists with providing behind-the-wheel training, additionally, updating/maintaining 19-A files for school bus drivers for DMV audits. Assists with conducting training programs for school officials, supervisors, and employees regarding drug and alcohol testing policies and procedures. May be required to occasionally operate a commercial motor vehicle. May be required to perform drug and/or alcohol collections for BOCES’ clients. Some evening hours may be required but additional compensation is provided for these sessions.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from high school or a high school equivalency diploma. Possession of a New York State CDL B with passenger and school bus endorsements. A 19-A Examiner and/or a School Bus Driver Instructor preferred.
Acquisition on Job Skills Training Certification which requires fingerprint clearance prior to date of hire, DASA Training and SAVE Workshop, Child Abuse Identification Workshop, and application through TEACH.
Attainment of Job Skills Training Certification which requires fingerprint clearance prior to date of hire, DASA Training and SAVE Workshop, Child Abuse Identification Workshop, and application through TEACH, the trainings/workshops can be completed on-line.
