Job Description
LOCATION: Initial assignment in a Component District or Center-based classroom in Jefferson or Lewis County
STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the BOCES Professional Association. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students with disabilities as well as those identified as benefiting from service
- Provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to therapy and learning.
- Record and report student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues in general education.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents.
Civil Service Title: Occupational Therapist
Job Qualifications
- NYS Licensed Occupational Therapist
- Knowledge of the AOTA Standards and Practices
- Knowledge of school-based therapy
- Experience with diagnostic tools
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
