BOCES Career and Technical Education PROGRAMs

Gas Diesel Mechanics

Get under the hood, crack open a gearbox, and learn how big machines come to life. From tractors to trucks, you'll tear down, troubleshoot, rebuild, and repair gas and diesel engines using real tools in a real shop.

Weld, wrench, and problem-solve your way through this hands-on program designed for future mechanics. Whether you're headed to the farm, the highway, or your own repair shop, this is where serious skills get started.

Life long learning

From Engines to Hydraulics, You’ll Learn It All

In this two-year program, you won’t just learn how machines work—you’ll make them work. Students train on real agricultural, industrial, and over-the-road equipment. You’ll cover power trains, chassis systems, preventative maintenance, and performance testing, while learning to troubleshoot and repair like a pro. Welding? Covered. Hydraulics? Absolutely. Dirty hands and confidence? Guaranteed.

This course is also open to adult students. High school students are given first priority for enrollment.
