Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Automotive Technology Instructor to lead
evening courses in preparation for ASE Certification exams.
Other duties include:
- Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons
- Instruct students in Maintenance & Light Repair (ASE G1), Brakes (ASE A5), Steering & Suspension (ASE A4), Electrical/Electronic Systems (ASE A6) and Engine Performance (ASE A8)
- Prepare students for the ASE certification exams
- Answer questions and support diverse learning styles
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and professional classroom environment
Job Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree or higher in Automotive Technology or related field preferred
- ASE Certified in A4, A5, A6, and A8 (or ability to obtain certifications quickly)
- 5 years’ proven experience working as an automotive technician
- Strong working knowledge of automotive diagnostics, tools, and repair procedures
- Prior teaching or public speaking experience preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly with both novice and experienced learners
Must be fingerprinted & take the adult education teaching exam for NYS.
COMPENSATION: $45.00 per hour
SCHEDULE: 2-3 evenings per week for 11 weeks per session
