Careers in this field involve highly skilled technicians who don’t mind working with their hands and have a natural curiosity to know how things work. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are required. Comfortability around computers and high tech equipment is also a need to be successful in this field.
Possible careers in this field include automotive body and related repairer, automotive specialty technician, recreational vehicle service technician, motorcycle mechanic, small engine service and repair.

The Automotive Technology field is changing quickly, but students will be well-prepared to succeed. Class activities are complemented by hands-on training experiences in a real-world automotive employment atmosphere. Students will learn to safely use all the tools of the trade while repairing brakes, hydraulic, steering, suspension, electrical systems, boosting engine performance and more.
Auto Body Repair professionals can be considered the artists of their trade, repairing and refinishing vehicles to pristine condition. Students will receive foundational training in job-site safety and then move on to hands-on work on real customers’ vehicles. Using high-tech, state-of-the-art equipment, students will have the chance to work on many different types of projects—from dent repair, auto body refinishing and custom painting to job estimation and customer service.
Walk through the aisles of any hardware store or home improvement superstore. Stop in to a recreation vehicle dealership. You’ll see an endless and ever-growing supply of outdoor power equipment vehicles. And all that equipment will eventually need a little tweaking, a little maintenance and some repair work.
