Culturally Responsive Educator

Culturally Responsive Educators will provide training and technical assistance that informs the relationship between teaching, learning, and cultural context, as well as training related to effective instructional programs and practices for students who are bilingual/English language learners with suspected or identified disabilities.

Barbara has been working in education for several decades. She has worked as a special education teacher for the Albany City School District, the New York City Department of Education in the Bronx, and at Madison-Oneida BOCES. She has worked in professional development at Oneida - Herkimer - Madison BOCES and currently for Jefferson - Lewis - Hamilton - Oneida BOCES. She studied Elementary Education at SUNY Oneonta, Special Education at SUNY Albany, and Educational Leadership at Lehman College and Le Moyne College. Barbara strives to help educators and leaders to meet the diverse needs of their educational organizations including students, families, and the communities that they serve.
