Adult Education

The Adult and Continuing Education Department offers a diverse selection of classes and programs. They include business training, trade/technical training and personal enrichment.

Business and Industry Courses are offered on a semi-annual basis to individuals who seek career trade skills. These courses include electrical wiring, welding, cosmetology, and health careers. Students who successfully complete a selected course will be provided with nationally recognized certification. Business trainings are also offered through the Center for Business and Industry and customized to fit the need of a specific business or organization.

Personal enrichment courses are offered in a variety of fields including photography, computers, and communication.

We also offer a select number of courses for online instruction.

Courses/Programs are based on community needs and desires and can change each semester.

Literacy Education (Language and High School Equivalency): Literacy Education programs are offered to adults for instruction in English and math and are available free of charge.

Business & Industry Courses: Looking to learn a trade for a new career or earn licensing and certification needed for your current career?

Cosmetology: Cosmetology provides students with the technical knowledge and skills necessary to qualify for the New York State Appearance Enhancement Licensing Exam.

Online Instruction: Our instructor-facilitated online courses are informative, fun, convenient, and highly interactive.

Health Careers Courses: Health care is a growing field with a number of employment opportunities.

Jefferson-Lewis BOCES Testing Center: The Jefferson-Lewis BOCES Testing Center partners with national test development and delivery providers to offer professional certification and license examinations.
