The 2020-21 Adult Evening Cosmetology Class is canceled due to low enrollment.
Cosmetology provides students with the technical knowledge and skills necessary to qualify for the New York State Appearance Enhancement Licensing Exam. Instruction includes a combination of classroom theory and practical experiences. Students will have the opportunity to practice on mannequins and patrons as they study hair-styling, hair coloring, perms, manicures, facials and pedicures.
The 10 month/1000 hour class is offered at the Bohlen Technical Center Monday through Friday 3:30 pm-9:30 pm. Tuition for the 20-21 school year was set at $7,950. Tuition for 2021-22 will be determined at a later date.
We will be taking applications for the 2021-2022 school year from March 1, 2021 to June 11, 2021
Admission Requirements: Students must submit an application All students are required to take the TABE Test (Tests of Adult Basic Education) in Math and Reading. The New York State Education Department requires this testing; there is no exception. This test will be administered once the student has started the program. |
Graduation & Policy Requirements: Cosmetology students are required to complete successfully all academic subjects and clinical experiences before being recommended to take the NYS licensing exam. Complete graduation and policy requirements are available in the Adult Cosmetology Program Handbook. Students will receive a copy of the handbook after successful admission to the program. New York State Licensing: Cosmetology students must have satisfactorily completed the 1,000 hour cosmetology program before taking the NYS licensing exam. If you have ever been found guilty of a crime (felony or misdemeanor) in any court the state may not issue a Cosmetology License. Cosmetology Make-up Hours This course is designed for the student who has not completed 1,000 hours of coursework. Transfer credits (hours) will be evaluated and credit given if approved. Students must successfully complete the minimum allowable hours for any module in order to receive credit. If you did not attend our cosmetology program then you will need to have the educational institution(s) that you attended complete a Record of Completion Form. This form should be mailed back to the Financial Aid Office at the address listed on the form.FULL COSMETOLOGY KIT IS REQUIRED.
