If your definition of “going out into the world” really does mean going out into the world, a career in forestry and conservation may be just the path you want to take. This program is designed to prepare you for a wide variety of career opportunities in the field of natural resource management, conservation and forestry. Forests, fields and streams will serve as your primary classrooms as you gain practical hands-on experience in the forest industry. You’ll also learn the safest methods for operating chainsaws, crawler tractors, log skidders, backhoes and skid steers. Employability (work ethic, attendance, cooperation, safety, etc.) characteristics are also emphasized in this two-year program.
