JLHHO BOCES Career and Technical Education is the place where lifelong careers begin. Technical and academic training go hand-in-hand as both high school students and adults experience high quality programs at the Charles H. Bohlen, Jr. Technical Center in Jefferson County and the Howard G. Sackett Technical Center in Lewis County.
Our Career and Technical Education teachers are professional master craftsmen whose classrooms contain the same equipment, tools, and supplies found in the workplace. Close business and industry ties, as well as strong links to our post secondary partners, ensure that our graduates are prepared to further their education and enter the workforce successfully.

Hands on Education
A day at the Howard G. Sackett Technical Center
is anything but typical! We provide a great mix of academic studies and hands on experience. Our students learn about framing a house and then build one. Our students read about computer hardware then they install it. Our students research information on braking systems then repair them. Math, science and English are interwoven into our programs and made relevant to the topics at hand. Our programs culminate with a real work experience. This involves a 3 week internship at local job locations. Our goal is to prepare you for post secondary education or entering the workforce. If this type of learning environment interests you, please speak to your guidance counselor or give us a call at 377-7300.
Our center is located on Route 12 in Glenfield, N.Y. Approximately 420 students from 6 districts enter our building daily, participating in 17 different Career and Technical Education programs. These districts include: Adirondack
, Beaver River
, Lowville, South Lewis, and Town of Webb
. In addition, a growing segment of our population is adult students. Whether they are looking to update skills or change careers, our programs can be helpful in improving performance or marketability.
