Lewis County Students Prepare for Disaster

Let's hope such a disaster never happens, but if it does, Lewis County General Hospital employees and first responders are better prepared, thanks to students from the Jefferson-Lewis BOCES Howard G. Sackett Technical Center.

On March 21, students were painted in ghoulish makeup, donned ripped clothes and pretended to be victims in a mock-explosion at a business. As practice for the real thing, firefighters and other emergency responders donned protective equipment and rushed the "victims" to Lewis County General Hospital so staff there could practice for the real thing.
