Important websites for Employment Information: Mr. Widrick received his Associates in Applied Science from Herkimer County Community College in Business Administration and his Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Potsdam in Industrial and Labor Relations. He currently is pursuing a Master's degree in the areas of Business and Distributive Education and certification as a Diversified Cooperative Education Coordinator. The Career Services Office at the Howard G. Sackett Technical Center provides students with information on post-secondary training, job opportunities, and the armed services. The office coordinates visits from admissions counselors from colleges and trade schools, as well as armed services recruiters. The Career Services Office also coordinates tours for adults and home school students. Career Cruising is an internet based program utilized by the center students and their families to provide information on colleges, college majors, qualifications and career paths. INTERNSHIPS AND WORK STUDY Qualified students may participate in our internship and work study programs. The internship program gives students the opportunity to work with employers in their chosen field. The student reports to the work site for up to eight weeks in lieu of attending the technical center. The student receives credit for class work, however they are not paid while participating in the internship program. The work study program also provides qualified students the opportunity to work in their chosen field while earning class credit. Students participating in work study also receive pay for their time from the employer. | |
